Eriu Earth Soaps began with a journey through the enchanting villages of Europe and Ireland, where local craftspeople created their own goods to sell.  From the baker who had fresh bread every morning to the local soap shop that used botanicals from the area to scent and enrich their product.  Eriu Earth Soaps was born of this inspiration and even as the company continues to grow and provide new products, it is still deeply grounded in the idea of a small local business that creates quality earth friendly products for the people!

Eriu (pronounced "Air-You") is named from Ireland's ancient earth goddess.  Ireland is called Erin in Gaelic, which means "Land of Eriu".  An Irish name was chosen for many reasons; for the inspirational trip that started it all, for the Irish heritage of those whom create the wonderful and soothing products and for the sheer beauty that is Ireland.  The fact that we are represented by an ancient earth goddess is the perfect compliment for a product that is derived from the earth, in an effort to keep it and those whom live with it, as healthy as possible.

Our First Product...Eriu Earth Soaps!

Making soap has been a work of pride.  Many long hours of research and experimentation have given rise to our current, and most wonderful, soap recipe.  Only natural ingredients such as organic olive oil, coconut oil and avocado oil; plus pure essential oils and botanicals are used to make our earthen soaps.  Our soaps are vegan, containing no animal ingredients and, as with all of our products, the soap is not tested on animals.  The process by which we make our soap is often referred to as "cold process" due to the minimal amount of heat used to make the soap.  This process helps the soap to retain its natural glycerin and other revitalizing qualities.  We are sure you will find Eriu Earth Soaps a welcome addition to your bath, creating a gentle and pure experience!

The skin is the gateway to the body...

As a company that is not only concerned about the environment, but also about the wellbeing of its inhabitants, we only use pure essential oils in our products.  Essential oils are beneficial in many ways when applied directly to the skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body and has a great ability to absorb and use the compounds that are applied to it.  When you use a product containing synthetic chemicals, the skin absorbs these too and they often accumulate and cause harm to your body.  When an essential oil is extracted, it brings all of the beneficial nutrients from its plant source; and, because of the oil's natural composition, it is easily processed by the human body.  Essential oils also have the ability to help eliminate environmental toxins from the body and prevent the congestion of bodily functions; they improve circulation and stabilize healthy skin condition.

Eriu Earth Soaps products are created using natural and organic ingredients when possible.  We carefully research the ingredients used to make sure that they have been processed without the use of chemicals or solvents.  Wanting only healthy and beneficial products to touch your skin, we do not use any synthetic or harsh ingredients, which could be harmful to you and our planet.  In addition, by purchasing organic ingredients we are helping to support the movement toward greater organic farming and thus limiting additional pesticides and other chemicals from entering our surrounding eco-systems.
